With more than 15 years of experience as an author and writing coach, she's passionate about storytelling and helping others pursue their dreams of becoming published authors.

2026 Great teacher challenge report card
🍎 Back to School just got a little more fun!
We're teaming up with three other Downtown Pella businesses for our Teacher Challenge Report Card!
The assignment:
✅ Pick up a Report Card at any participating store.
✅ Visit all four stores and collect a stamp.
✅ Turn in the TOP HALF of your completed Report Card with the name of your favorite teacher.
✅ KEEP the bottom half of your completed Report Card for you (or your parents) to enjoy a special in each participating store between September 8th through December 31, 2026.
One lucky teacher will win an incredible Downtown Pella gift basket filled with goodies from all four businesses!
Every nomination helps your favorite teacher climb the leaderboard. So tell your classmates, family, friends, and fellow parents to vote, too!

You asked…we listened…and we’re hitting the road! 🎉
Join us Sunday, November 8th for an ALL-DAY Iowa Wine Road Trip featuring three fantastic Iowa wineries—and the best part? You don’t have to worry about driving! 😉
We’re loading up the charter bus and spending the day sipping, snacking, laughing, and exploring Iowa wine together!

⏰ Approximately 9:00 AM–8:00 PM
💰 Total cost will be $145 per person (minus the $50.00 deposit)
🍷 Your $145 Includes:• 🚌 Charter bus transportation
• 🍷 Wine/tastings at all three wineries
• 🍽️ Food at the first and last stops
• 🥨 Snacks on the bus
• 🥤 Non-alcoholic beverages on the bus
• 🎶 Entertainment along the way
• ❤️ A full day of Iowa wine, fun & new memories!

Lubben Vineyards & Winery - Anamosa, Iowa
Park Farm Winery - Epworth, Iowa
Fireside Winery - Marengo, Iowa
🎟️ RESERVE YOUR SEAT:Seats are first come, first served. A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required to reserve your seat. If you are unable to attend, you may transfer your reservation and deposit to another person. If you are unable to find someone to take your reservation but we are able to fill your seat with another guest, your $50 deposit will be refunded to you. If your seat remains unfilled, the deposit is nonrefundable.
